Brandon Shultz, M.Ed

Head of School

Brandon Shultz began working in education over 20 years ago when he moved to Taichung, Taiwan where he studied Mandarin, served as a missionary and an associate pastor, as well as worked in bilingual education as a teacher and administrator. In 2007, Mr. Shultz and his family relocated to Los Angeles, California to continue working in ministry and education. For the next twelve years, he served as an administrator, high school principal, and the vice president on the school board of a K-12 Christian school. Today, Mr. Shultz leads PCPA and has a passion to see Christian education more accessible to families through unique delivery models. He firmly believes in the mission of Christian education for reaching the next generation and bringing sustainable, generational change to families and communities.

Kari Rodriguez, M.A.T.

K-5 Academic Director/Elementary Teacher

Mrs. Kari Rodriguez is a life-long learner who has spent 10 years in the field of education as a teacher in both public and private Christian school settings. She has experience teaching high school ESL, elementary school and art. She has also previously served as the director of children's ministries at the church she grew up in. Mrs. Rodriguez has a Bachelor's degree from Biola University in Liberal Studies, Elementary Education with an emphasis in Visual Arts. She is also a graduate of Biola's Torrey Honors Institute and currently holds a California Multiple Subject Credential and a Master of Arts in Teaching. She is passionate about providing a personalized, interactive learning environment where each student can grow in his or her God-given gifts.

Chris Dunn, Ph.D

English Teacher

Mr. Chris Dunn is passionate about Christian education and has worked in the field for over fifteen years. He began by teaching middle school math and high school Bible at a private school and then transitioned to Christian higher education. He has advanced degrees in Theology, Biblical Studies, and recently finished a Ph.D. in Leadership. Learning is a lifelong endeavor for Mr. Dunn, and he is passionate about reaching hearts and minds through holistic education from a Christian worldview.

Christina Lee, M.A.T.

English Teacher

Mrs. Christina Lee is a huge fan of growing people. In the past decade, she has been a middle school and high school English and ELD teacher in public and private Christian school settings, literacy coach, lead teacher, intervention program specialist, and California Teacher Induction mentor. She currently holds a California Single Subject Teaching Credential in English and a Masters of Arts in Teaching. Mrs. Lee is also in her 12th year of leading the high school ministry at Vineyard of Harvest Church in Walnut, California. Her lifelong goal is to empower others with a vision to grow and to celebrate small and big victories with them along the way!

Jose Olivencia, M.S.

Math/Spanish Teacher

Mr. Jose Olivencia is a learner of the arts, science, and nature. He has taught for 15 years, 2 of them being in Christian schools and the rest in Texas public schools. Most of his teaching has been in the areas of math and science for Spanish bilingual students, grades 4-8. He also taught ESL to middle school students for 4 years. Mr. Olivencia holds a Texas certification in Bilingual Education for all core subjects and for grades 4-8, with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Master of Science in Multidisciplinary Science. Jose has served as a teacher, preacher, missionary, ordained deacon, head deacon, choir/worship team member, and youth director at various churches in Texas and Puerto Rico. He loves the Lord, and has a passion for discipling others to learn to love Him who gave Himself for us, Jesus Christ!

Tomeica Stephenson, M.S.

Elementary Teacher

Mrs. Tomeica Stephenson has been an educator for almost 16 years, many of which were spent in various public and private schools. Mrs. Stephenson currently holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Northern Caribbean University, Jamaica and a Master of Science degree in Elementary Reading and Literacy from Walden University, Minneapolis. She also holds a Florida Professional Teacher Certificate Pre-k -3 and a Georgia Professional Certificate k-5, with a Reading Endorsement from Florida and Georgia. Mrs. Stephenson has served in numerous departments at her church; teacher, pathfinder counselor, youth leader, assistant family life director and children's ministry leader in Jamaica, Grand Cayman and the United States. It is her desire to purposely allow God to use her in ensuring that students are not just ready for this life of work but for the life with Christ to come.

Kelly Rice, B.S.

Art Teacher/ Elementary Teacher

Mrs. Kelly Rice has been teaching Art since 2005. She loves to inspire creativity and delights in the look on her students’ faces when they discover a new medium or style they love. She believes Art is a necessary outlet for imagination and passion in young people. Mrs. Rice holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from Central Michigan University, graduating with an Art Major and an Outdoor Education Minor. She is certified to teach K-12 Art in Florida, and has primarily spent her years teaching PreK-8th grade in public schools, however, she also has experience in Christian education. She is excited to switch to an online platform where she can reach children across the country and also have the flexibility to be a wife and mom to her three elementary aged kids.

Elizabeth Krause, M.Ed.

Substitute/ Bible Teacher

Mrs. Elizabeth Krause grew up in a family of educators and has served in the ministry of private Christian schools for 35 years. She has extensive experience teaching science, P.E. and psychology. Serving as a head basketball coach of both men and women's teams, she has helped to mentor many young college athletes as well as a few WNBA players. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a Masters of Science in Psychology. She is passionate about building relationships of trust and respect and believes all children deserve the best educational community possible, a place where everyone feels safe and accepted as children of God.

Christine Kim

International Director

Mrs. Christine Kim is a firm believer that every student is unique and has the potential to learn and grow. Her primary goal is to help students reach their potential and achieve some form of success in every lesson. She graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. She went on to achieve a TESOL certificate and a Master's degree in English Language Instruction and Curriculum from Simpson University. She has been in education for the past 14 years, teaching various ages and grade levels. In 2006 to 2015, she spent 9 years teaching English at international schools in South Korea. During that time, she had the opportunity to work with not only various age groups but also with diverse students from all over the world. Despite the challenges that come with being a teacher, she finds that at the end of the day nothing is greater than being able to impact students one lesson at a time.

Chris Caruthers, B.A.

Social Studies Teacher

Mr. Chris Caruthers has been teaching in Indonesia since 2016 as a tutor, EAL, English, and Global Perspectives teacher with most of them being in a Christian school setting. Previously he worked in sales and customer service in Texas prior to the move to Indonesia. He wants to use his experience to not only help his students academically, but also to prepare them for the future. Mr. Caruthers holds a Bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Stirling(Scotland) and two TESOL certificates with one being from the University of Arizona. Currently Chris is working on his Masters of Education from Dordt University. Chris is an ordained minister and has served as a deacon at a church in Scotland and assisted with campus ministry in Jakarta, Indonesia. When not teaching, Chris enjoys traveling with his wife and playing rugby.

Jessica Chan, B.A.

Pathway Blog Author

Mrs. Jessica Chan graduated from the University of California, Irvine and worked in the private school sector for 6 years. She has worked with displaced people groups and believes in the powerful transformation that education can bring to a community and its individuals. She is also passionate about empowering parents in their child’s developmental path as she raises little ones of her own.

Arin Harrison, M.A.

English Teacher

Mrs. Arin Harrison has been serving as an educator for 15 years. She has taught in both a traditional classroom setting as well as through various alternative education programs.. As a mother of 2, she strongly believes in providing students with a solid Christian education while still valuing the irreplaceable time that a family shares together. Along with a lifelong passion for reading and learning, Mrs, Harrison also enjoys having the opportunity to mentor students and support them as they strive to reach their academic goals. Her certification includes English Language Arts 8-12, ESL, and she also holds a Principal Certification. She attended the University of Texas in Arlington where she received her bachelor of arts in English, and she later received her masters in educational leadership and administration from Texas A&M Commerce.

Janice Montrelerdrasme, M. A

Admissions Advisor

With a diverse background spanning corporate and non-profit sectors, Ms. Janice Montrelerdrasme holds a Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications from Lee University and a Master's Degree in Organizational Leadership from Oxford Graduate School. Deeply committed to shaping futures, her passion lies in expanding Christian education to impact communities worldwide.

Wendy Shultz, B.A.

Chief Operations Officer

Mrs. Wendy Shultz has worked in education and Christian ministry settings for over 20 years. She received her BA in Literature and Culture before starting her career as a teacher and administrator. During her career, she has created and managed international programs in the United States and countries in Asia. Her passion is to multiply Christian education in various cities in the States and other nations to see the Gospel of Jesus Christ significantly impact these areas..
