FAQs

Is Pathway Christian Prep Academy a fully-accredited school?

Yes. Pathway Christian Prep Academy is fully accredited by Cognia (previously AdvancED) bestows the recognition and authority of the accrediting agencies NCA CASI, NWAC, and SACS CASI.

What documents do you require for student enrollment?

Transcripts/previous year’s academic record, proof of age, IEP/504 plan if applicable.

Do you offer different pacing options?

We have a traditional track and a self-paced track. The traditional track will have live sessions once a week and groups of students that are on the same track together so the social learning aspect is more emphasized. The self-paced track can access the recordings of these sessions. Regardless of the track, students still have a limited time to complete the course, but self-paced offers more flexibility.

How often do students have to log in for live virtual class sessions?

Full-time students log in to virtual sessions daily. Frequency of a specific course meeting will vary based on grade level and course, but generally, courses meet twice per week live and then the rest of the work can be done asynchronously or during small group tutoring sessions.

What time zone are live class sessions?

Pathway uses the Pacific Standard Time zone to schedule live sessions to make sure classes don’t start too early for students; however, we have students from all over the US and internationally. Students in a different time zone have an adjusted schedule such that their live sessions are a little later in the day and their independent work times are flexed to earlier times.

How many hours is a typical school day?

Students should expect to spend 5-6 hours per day working on schoolwork. Of course, some students work faster and may require less time, while others may require more.

What are your class sizes?

The average class size is around six to eight students but we limit classes to a maximum of twelve to make sure we have an excellent ratio.

Are students required to visit an actual location?

Students are not required by PCPA to visit an actual location, however, students enrolled through some of our partner schools may have these requirements.

How is the faith aspect taught at the school?

Teachers are Christian and view their job as a ministry. They integrate content and teaching with Biblical principles, pray for students on a regular basis and teach in a way that promotes students' processing of who God is and how it relates to what they are learning. Students have a Bible class and core classes are Biblically-integrated. Students participate in a weekly chapel and high school students participate in community groups.

What denomination or doctrine is taught?

PCPA is made up of many different people from many different faith backgrounds. The school teaches from an evangelical, non-denominational perspective primarily focusing on the core tenets of faith.

Students and families are not required to be Christian. We value everyone’s opinion and their right to believe what they want, however, faculty and staff are required to be Christian, and instruction will take place from a Christian perspective.

How does the school promote social learning and relational development?

By offering clubs, community groups, leadership groups, and other online venues for students to interact with one another. Teachers are very intentional when designing live lessons to get students to interact and begin to make friends with one another.

How do I apply for financial aid?

Pathway offers financial aid which families can apply through FACTS. The financial aid application opens in March for each upcoming academic year. You’ll need to submit financial documents to FACTS to determine what you might be eligible for.

Do you have a payment plan option for tuition?

Pathway offers annual or monthly payments. You can break tuition up into a 10-month payment plan.
