Educational Philosophy

PCPA believes that all students are uniquely created by God with an incredible potential to learn, grow, and bring about positive impact. Our educational philosophy stems from this core belief and channels our energies to promote a biblical worldview alongside high academic standards, while helping the students to gain skills in creative and critical thinking using the best-integrated curriculum available.

The objective of our instructional program is to open all potentially feasible doors which will allow the student to pursue the post-secondary education of his or her choosing, whether in college, university, or in vocational training areas. Since the overall goal of our education is practical impact, the philosophy equips students with not only the skills to do well in educational settings, but in real-world settings that are career and mission related.

Our responsibility for the student encompasses the spiritual, intellectual, mental, physical, social, and emotional areas. Our commitment is to discover, and help students discover, who they are in Christ, how they learn, their unique gifting, what drives them as a child of God, and how to apply all of these attributes to their school experience with the forward view of global impact. Along with this, our education must provide an environment to learn, grow, problem solve and master skills required to be effective contributors to society.

Our philosophy defines the role of the teacher as a mentor and instructional guide. Mentors serve as role models building meaningful relationships with their students and advocating for their growth in all areas. They embody what it means to be a disciple of Christ through their love and passion for God, students, and learning. As instructional guides, teachers serve as knowledgeable resources of content, effective administers of research-based instructional practices, and facilitators of the learning process.

The role of a student in the learning process is to be reflective critical thinkers, self-directed life-long learners, and engaged contributors to the school and community. Students are on a journey of self-discovery, as well as understanding God and his creation. The learn to reflect, think, and take ownership of the learning process in order to advance their learning and pursue their personal interests for the betterment of society. Lastly, PCPA students cultivate compassion and care for both the student body, staff, their community, as well as for the world as a whole.

We believe that all students are uniquely created by God with an incredible potential to learn, grow, and bring about positive impact.
